Blankets distributed to earthquake survivors
Bhaktapur, Jan 18: Prabesh Khadka of Dadhikot, Anantalingeshwar Municipality, Bhaktapur has provided blankets to the earthquake affected people of Dadhikot area.
The blankets were provided to 72 earthquake survivors at a programme organised at the local Araniko Higher Secondary School.Khadka, who has been living in the United States provided the assistance through his father, Prem Bahadur Khadka.
The Khadka senior said the money for purchasing the blankets worth Rs 100,000 was collected from the Nepalis residing in the US through the Nepalese Association of Minnesota.
He said the 60 earthquake-affected families were provided with corrugated zinc sheets which were bought with the Rs 300,000 that Prabesh and his friends in the US remitted.
Similarly, the Manaviya Astha Nepal, an NGO, distributed blankets and biscuits to 375 earthquake-affected senior citizens of Katunje, Surya Binayak Municipality, also on Sunday.
