JSSL directed to ensure text books reach schools before the start of academic year
Bhaktapur, Jan 18: Minister for Education Girirajmani Pokharel has directed the Janak Sikhya Samagri Kendra Limited to ensure that the school text books reach every district at least 15 days before the start of the new academic year.
In a surprise check on the ongoing printing work of the text books at JSSKL on Monday, he directed the Limited Board of Directors, staff and the JSSKL Managing Director Anil Kumar Jha to also make sure that the text books reach Karnali before the month of Falgun, when the academic year begins there. “Since the JSSKL has been given the first priority to print the text books, it must ensure that the job is done, otherwise prior information must be shared about any delay”, he said.
The internal problems of the Centre must not hamper the printing of the text books, he said.
In response, Managing Director Jha said problem was being faced to import the necessary paper to print the books, and also demanded Rs. 150 million from the government for the same. He, however, expressed the commitment to have the books printed on time.
