NC lawmakers express displeasure at change of name



Kathmandu, Jan 21: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Ram Krishna Yadav speaking at today’s Legislature-Parliament meeting during the special hour opposed to the incumbent government’s decision to revoke former NC-led government’s decision to name the National Institute of Mass Communications (NIMC) after late former Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, also a democracy leader.

Accusing the incumbent government of trying to revoke decisions taken by former NC-led government, he demanded to correct the government’s decision to revoke NC-led government’s decision to name the NIMC after Bhattarai.

Likewise, saying that two states should not be formed in the Tarai, CPN-UML lawmaker Bharat Bahadur Saud suggested that the government should be serious to end black marketeering caused due to unofficial Indian border blockade and provide basic health service to those districts depriving of such facility.

Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Daljit BK Sripali stressed on the need for providing identity cards to those then CPN (Maoist) people’s liberation army who went for volunteer retirement.

Also, Rastriya Janamorcha lawmaker Mina Pun demanded that the government should ease smooth supply of fuel.
