Rai arrested for leaving Nepali students stranded in Chile

Kathmandu, Jan 19: Police here arrested an education consultancy proprietor for duping and leaving 42 Nepali students stranded in Chile.
Niraj Rai, who had been running Ahead International Education Consultancy at New Baneshower in the capital city, was arrested on Tuesday after the complaints of stranded Nepali students in Chile, according to the Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal Police.
Rai is learnt to have promised the students an easy entry into the USA, Canada and other European countries from Chile, as per the complaints lodged by Nepali students to the Nepali Embassy in Brazil’s capital city Brasilia.
The Crime Division has sent arrested Rai to the Metropolitan Police Range to bring him to book on fraud charge.
