“Public in Terai are real patriotic soldier,” argues leader Pokharel

Biratnagar, Jan 21: CPN (UML) General-Secretary Ishwar Pokharel has said that the people in Tarai are the real patriots safeguarding the border of the country.
At a programme organized by the Youth Association Nepal (YAN), the student wing of CPN (UML) at Rangeli in Morang on Thursday, leader Pokharel urged the party cadres to dispel the misunderstanding brewed about the newly promulgated constitution, which claims that it does not reflect the interest of the Madheshis in the country.
Pokharel claimed that the agitating United Democratic Madhesh Front itself was wide spreading illusions that the new constitution was biased on the issues like citizenship, language for official use in provincial state among others for Madheshi community.
Similarly, Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal said that there was no point in protesting the new statute which was promulgated through the people’s mandate.
Likewise, CPN (UML) standing committee member Shanker Pokharel said that the Madheshi communities have equally contributed to the nation-building like the people in hill and mountain. He was of the opinion that the UDMF was trying to mislead people in the name of constitution.
Present at the programme were YAN President Rajiv Pahari, YAN Secretary Parshuram Basnet, central committee member Nirudevi Pal and Jivan Ghimire among others.
