Peaceful protest if fails will invite violence, warns Mahato



Saptari, Jan 22: Sadbhawana Party (SP) Chairperson Rajendra Mahato has warned that the country would steer towards violence if the peaceful protest underway in Madhes failed to deliver any concrete results.

In a meeting with cadres at the party office based in Rajbiraj of Saptari district, leader Mahato stressed the urgency to get the Madhesi demands addressed since the Madhes struggle is for strengthening national unity and integrity.
He asserted that the country would witness a catastrophic mode if the three major political parties – Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Unified CPN (Maoist) – undermined the aspirations of Madhesi people.
The SP chairperson warned that the government and three big political parties should be held responsible if the country went through an unprecedented accident for being failure to address the demand of Madhes movement continued for the past five months.
He accused the government of trying to weaken the base of Madhes movement in the name of talks and claimed the United Democratic Madhesi Front would further intensify the struggle.
