Training on writing of poetry and ghazal held in Assam

Kathmandu, Jan 26: A Nepali poetry and ghazal writing workshop was held in seven districts of Assam, India recently.

The two-week training was organised by respective district committees with the initiation of the central committee of the Assam Nepali Literary Assembly (ANLA) on the occasion of ANLA’s 43rd establishment day.

Poet Devi Nepal and ghazal poet Suresh Subedi were trainers, while Dr Kabita Lama, chief of Nepali Department at Sikkim University was the chief guest.

Also on the occasion, a book entitled ‘Ghazal: Principle and Development’ was launched at the event that was also attended by senior novelist Lil Bahadur Chhetri and other Nepali litterati Dr Khemraj Nepal, Dr Debaki Devi Timalsina, Rewati Mohan Timilsina, Goma Sharma and Nawa Sapkota.
