COAS Chettri off to India for a weeklong visit



Kathmandu, Feb 1: Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chettri left here for India Monday, on a weeklong visit at the invitation of the COAS of India Dalbir Singh.

This is COAS Chettri’s first visit to India following his appointment to the post of the Chief of the Nepali Army. During the visit, COAS Chettri is scheduled to be honoured on February 3 with the honorary title of General of the Indian Army from the President of India.
COAS Chettri is also scheduled to meet with the Indian Minister for External Affairs, the Minister for Defense and other high-ranking government officials. In absence of COAS Chettri, Chief of General Staff Baldev Raj Mahat will assume the duties of acting COAS, according to the NA Public Relations Directorate.
