Case filed against four including former Armed Police Chief



Kathmandu, Feb 7: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against four persons including former Inspector General of Armed Police Force, Shailendra Kumar Shrestha, accusing them of involving in the misuse of over Rs 8 million while purchasing and supplying the goods for the Armed Police Force. The case was filed at the Special Court on Sunday.

According to CIAA Spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar, then IG Shrestha, account chief Inspector Takman Mahara, store chief Deputy Superintendent Ram Chandra Shrestha and owner of Aditi Transport, Bharat Kumar Thapa, were filed the case on charge of misusing state authority by producing fake bills/receipts on purchase of goods.
As per the investigation, the former IG Shrestha was found involved in the embezzlement of Rs 8.93 million while store chief embezzled Rs 1.8 million, and owner of the Aditi Transport wronged Rs 5.7 million. They were filed the charge sheet in line with Corruption Control Act 2059.
