Snowfall disrupts flights to Humla



Humla, Feb 8: Humla district has witnessed a sudden snowfall from Sunday evening. The district headquarters, Simikot, has seen as high as one foot of snow, it is reported.

Likewise, today’s regular flights to and from the Simikot Airport were disrupted due to the snowfall. Regular flights to Nepalgunj and Surkhet from Humla could not take place after the snowfall.
Meanwhile, normal life in upper belt of Kalikot district has been affected due to snowfall coupled with winter rain.
Life in Phoimahadev, Ranchuli, Chilkhaya, Chhapre and Rupsa, Mumra, Dhaulagoha, Khin and other region is affected following the snowfall.
Padam BK, a local resident of Khin VDC, said that the folks are facing difficulties to come out of their houses after the snowfall.
However, the rain has brought happiness to the folks in the lower belt in the district. The rain is supposed to be helpful for the winter crops to yield more.
