PM Observes Taleju Bhawani



Kathmandu, Feb 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has observed the Taleju Bhawani Temple in Basantapur, Kathmandu this morning.

Prime Minister Oli went around the temple premised in the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square – which is scheduled in the the world heritage list. He also enquired about the post-earthquake status of the temple on the occasion.
The Prime Minister pledged to grant Rs 500,000 for the maintenance of the temple roof in the first phase.
It may be noted that the temple saw small cracks and roof leaking water due to effect of the April 25 earthquake. The locals had demanded the government for the construction of the roof of the temple.
The Taleju Bhawani Temple has been worshipped as a favourite deity of Malla Kings since time immemorial. It has been opened for public once a day in a year.
