TMLP Chair Thakur raps government for ignoring Madhesi Front’s demands

Lumbini (Rupandehi), March 3: Chairman of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP), Mahantha Thakur has blamed the government that it was not serious towards addressing the demands raised by the Madhesi parties.
Speaking at a press conference following a meeting of his party in Bhairahawa today, Thakur said the protest movement waged by the Madhesi Front was not over yet although they have withdrawn some protest programmes like general shutdowns, strike and the border blockade.
He stated that the different rounds of talks and dialogue held with the government have become futile because of the government alone and stressed that the future talks should be meaningful and result-oriented.
SSenior vice-chairman of the party Hridayesh Tripathi complained that although the government has declared that all those people who sustained injuries in course of the Madhes uprising would be provided free treatment, that has not been coming. He further charged the government of involving in the game of holding on to power rather than resolving the people’s problems.
