Sweepers back to work from agitation
Lahan, March 18: Sweepers of Lahan municipality who have boycotted office works and staged sit-in demanding permanent status have returned to their work since last Thursday.
The agitation side withdrew their protest after Executive Officer of Lahan municipality Mohamed Shere Mustafa in a bilateral dialogue agreed to increase uniform allowance and appoint daily wager sweeper on contract basis.
They have been staging sit-in before the main gate of the municipality putting forth several demands including granting permanent status to all old and new sweepers, providing additional benefit for works on public holiday and opening the vacancy of 2066 BS for recruiting permanent staffs.
