Kathmandu, March 29: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba paid tribute to NC student leader Lal Kumari Pokharel alias Swastika, who died in a car accident at Adhabhar along the Pathlaiya-Amlekhgunj road section on Monday.
Pokharel was also former president of Free Students Union (FSU) at Kathmandu-based Padmakanya Campus.
Deuba also draped NC party flag over the body kept at the premises of the campus for paying of last respects today morning at the initiation of NC student wing Nepal Students Union (NSU).
Likewise, NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, former general secretaries Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Prasad Sitaula and NC leaders Gopal Man Shrestha, Bimalendra Nidhi, Bal Krishna Khand, Gururaj Ghimire, Gobinda Bhattarai, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Badri Pandey and Jiban Pariyar among others paid tribute to the late Pokharel.
Similarly, student leaders and chairpersons of FSU and NSU also paid tribute to the late Pokharel.
According to NC, Pokharel’s body will be cremated today
