Kathmandu, April 15: Minister for Health Ramjanam Chaudhary underscored the awareness programme on diabetes and thyroid disorders in view of the growing population suffering the diseases an alarming rate.
Inaugurating the Kathmandu Diabetes and Thyroid Centre run by Alka Hospital at Jawalakhel today, Minister Chaudhary said of late the risk of non-communicable diseases were increasing and billions of money were spent for its treatment.
Chairperson of the Centre, Kumar Thapa, shared that the Centre was brought into operation with an objective to provide patients a world-class services for the treatment of diabetics and thyroid problems.
With the launch of the service, Chairperson Thapa claimed that it was now not necessary to fly abroad for the treatment of same.
Apart from treatment, the Centre will work for the preventive cause of these health hazards, added Director of the Centre Dr Ansumala Joshi.
The Centre, established as a sister organization of the Alka Hospital, is on its premises. RSS
