Minister Basnet directs officials to control anti-constitutional activities

Rupandehi, April 25: Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Basnet has directed the security officials to stop the activities against the constitution. He added that the main responsibility of the government was to implement the constitution therefore activities against it should be stopped.

Inaugurating the regional level special security seminar organized in Butwal today, Minister Basnet directed the officials to rein in the anti-constitutional activities to be launched in Tarai by the Madhesi alliance.

The constitution is an instrument of agreement and compromise, Minister Basnet said and added that it was high time the achievements were institutionalized even though some were not satisfied. “It is not the time to incite the people through agitation,” he warned.

The Minister further underlined the constitution implementation as the state and everyone’s national workload. He said that a special security system will be exercised after formulation of an internal security policy.

The seminar was attended by Chief District Officer and security chiefs from six districts of Lumbini zone and Chitwan district.
