Quake-hit schools receive zinc sheets

Tanahun, May 9: Children Nepal has donated corrugated zinc sheets to five schools of Palungtaar VDC of Gorkha that were destroyed in the earthquake.

Children Nepal with support of an INGO distributed zinc sheets to Bal Kalyan Lower Secondary School, Salangiri Secondary School, Dharmawati Secondary School, Saraswoti Secondary School and Jana Jagriti Secondary School.

At the recommendation of the District Education Office the schools were selected from among those destroyed in the earthquake and needing reconstruction, Children Nepal Chairman, Ram Bahadur Thapa, said.

Zinc sheets worth of Rs 427,000 were handed over to the five schools, said Children Nepal Programme Coordinator Shiva Sharma Chapagain. RSS
