UAE Foreign Minister arriving today to open embassy



Kathmandu, May 10: At the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa, a delegation headed by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates is arriving Kathmandu today by special aircraft in connection with an official visit.

There will be official talks between the two sides, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release.

After the official talks, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah will inaugurate the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Lazimpat, Kathmandu at 15:30 hours.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah will call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli the same day.

The UAE has appointed Saeed Hamdan Al Naqei the ambassador-designate to Nepal with the opening of its embassy. Al Naqei has not presented his credentials to the President.

Nepal and the UAE established diplomatic relations on 22 January 1977.
