216 new agro-based industries registered

Siraha, May 14: The registration of agro-based industries has increased in Siraha district with the rise in loan flow from banks and financial institutions to the sector.

Number of registration of agriculture-based industries has gone up when there is easy lending from banks and financial institutions and the sector normally remains unaffected from growing hours of load-shedding.

There were only five per cent of registered agro-based industries in previous fiscal year whereas in the first nine months of current fiscal year 2072-73 BS 216 new agro-based industries have been registered, said the Office of Small and Cottage Industry, Lahan.

Among the registered firms are 110 of poultry, 52 of livestock, 42 of fishery, 49 of dairy, three of agriculture, two of bee-keeping and 36 related to nursery.

Growing lending from banks and financial institutions in the agriculture sector has attracted locals towards agro industry, said Rajendra Kumar Lal Karna of Office of Small and Cottage Industry. RSS
