Human welfare if all could accept Buddhist philosophy



Kathmandu, May 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that only if everyone could move ahead with acceptance of Buddhist philosophy human welfare could be achieved.

In his greetings to all Nepali brothers and sisters on the occasion of 2560th Buddha Jayanti, PM Oli said Gautam Buddha, who was born in Nepali territory, made huge contribution towards human welfare and his teachings remains popular in the world.

He said Buddha’s teachings of non-violence, harmony, human welfare including the path of peace made his views popular in the world. “I would like to extend wishes that there be motivation so that all can endorse Buddhism’s sentiment of brotherhood when moving forward and may all be blessed,” he said.

PM wish on Ubhauli festival

PM Oli has also extended wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters on the occasion of ‘Ubhauli’, a great festival of Kirati people that is celebrated on Baisakh Full Moon Day which is today.

In the message, PM said Nepal remains a distinctive place of convergence of multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic, multi-religion and cultural features while adding that despite diversity there is unity and social harmony. RSS
