Civil servants’ transfer delayed

Kathmandu, Aug 21: The schedule of transfers of civil servants this year has been delayed due to government change.

The Ministry of General Administration is entitled to carry out the transfers of civil servants. But this year, the transfer schedule was delayed as the respective minister after the formation of the new government has not been appointed yet, Ministry’s Joint Secretary Ishwar Raj Poudel said. As per the Ministry calendar, the transfer should be carried out within mid-August.

The new government is yet to appoint the Minister for General Administration and the Ministry is in the process of amending the transfer calendar, extending the deadline of transferring employees by the end of August. The Ministry has sent a proposal regarding the amendment of transfer regulations to the Cabinet for an approval. In the current fiscal year, 2,764 civil servants have applied for the transfer. RSS
