High court of Nepal sees resistance across the country

High Court of Nepal saw resistance

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The High court of Nepal saw resistance from governmental advocates and trade union today. They are withdrawing from all advocating and counseling works across the country demanding the High court correct its decision of justice appointment.

Lawyers from Office of Attorney General and four trade unions initiated this protest. They have been claiming that the appointment of justice in the high court is biased and unfair.

“This non-cooperation movement will go on unless the decision to appoint the justices will be revised,” said chairperson of Nepal Civil Servants Union of Office of Attorney General Bharat Mainali.

High court recently appointed 80 justices recently- the decision which is being criticized across the country as based on top parties’ political allocation.
