Legendary singer Panna Kaji Shakya no more

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Veteran singer and musician Panna Kaji Shakya Panna Kaji Shakya, who is famous for his song Tiriri Murali Bajyo, died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning at 5:30 am at his residence Tahachal. He was 85 years old.

He was born on Paush 15, 1988 BS in Ombahal, Kathmandu. He joined Radio Nepal in 2007 BS at the age of 19 where he worked until 2040 BS. During his lifetime he had recorded more than 400 songs in various genres.

‘Tiriri Murali Bajyo’, ‘Kina Kina Timro Tasbir,’ ‘Lolaeka Ti Timra Ankha’ are his most popular songs.

Shakya is survived by four sons and a daughter. His sons, Prabesh Man and Pabitra Man are active in the Nepali music industry.
