Two bills related to election endorsed

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: The legal basis to hold elections of all tiers—local, provincial and federal has been met with the endorsement of two bills related to election by the parliament.
The Legislature-parliament meeting on Wednesday passed the Voters Roll Bill, 2073 and Election Commission Bill, 2073 unanimously.
The two important bills were presented before the parliament meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi.

Responding to queries raised over the bill, DPM Nidhi said the government has no intention to deprive the people from their right to vote.
He also said that a provision has been made whereby the government will declare the date of elections in consultation with the Election Commission.
The parliament shall meet next at 1:00 pm on coming Friday
