KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Former Deputy Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Vice-President Bhim Rawal today made clear that if the Prime Minister cannot fix the date of election within a few days, continuity of this government has no meaning.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by Reporters’ Club Nepal at Bhrikutipandap presided by senior journalist and Club’s President Rishi Dhamala today, he said, “The government is currently fixated on constitution amendment in the time when the whole country is expecting election with in Jestha. We have no trust in this government at all that it will give us election date. ”

Arguing that current government was formed with the purpose of holding election, he added “‘It seems Prachanda government has no intention of holding election. If PM Dahal cannot give us election, it is obvious- there is no reason this government should continue.”

Rawal also expressed his dissatisfaction over government’s move of freezing the legislature-parliament for 15 days. “They tagged us foes of election while we obstructed the parliament protesting against the constitution amendment. Now, they have held up the parliament without any reason.”

He also said that that UML were ready to let the discussion over the tabled amendment bill take place if it can push nation into a solid resolution. But he warned his party would not let the antinationalist amendment bill be passed in the parliament.

He added that his party was positive on carrying out discussion with Morcha leaders to reach a common point of understanding that could provide a positive outlet to the current political instability.
