RSS hosts free heart and kidney check-up camp

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: A free heart and kidney check-up camp has been organised in the premises of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) office, marking its 56th anniversary.

Many RSS staff, their family members and journalists affiliated with various other media organizations have availed of the health service.

Organised by RSS’s employee’s association with joint support from Kathmandu chapter of Nepal Heart Foundation and the Kathmandu District Public Health Office (DPHO), the camp saw a large number of visitors that was more than expected.

Speaking on the occasion, RSS Chairman Kul Chandra Wagle said such creative activities would help maintain mutual relations and emotional unity among RSS employees.

Likewise, the Foundation chairman Surendra Lal Shrestha stressed the need for people to be aware of the condition of their heart while referring to the many deaths caused by heart-related diseases across the globe on a daily basis.
DPHO lab technician Bhola Nath Poudel said the government has prioritised conducting check up of kidney as this, he said, would help diagnose other diseases.

Likewise, Chairman of RSS’s employees’ association Manoj Lamichhane and administrator Uttam Silwal said holding such medical service time and again would help spread awareness of diseases. RSS is marking its anniversary on coming February 18. RSS
