NC President Deuba vows to open the Tatopani checkpoint at any cost

KHADICHOUR, Feb 18: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed commitment to open the Tatopani check point, closed after the Gorkha earthquake, at any cost while addressing a mass gathering organised by NC Sindhupalchowk Constituency-1 at Khadichour on Saturday.

“It is my commitment Nepali Congress will open the Tatopani checkpoint- that has been closed after the earthquake- at any cost.” He said.

Talking about the current political context of Nepal he said that voices of mountainous, hilly and Terai should be accommodated on the issue of constitution implementation.

Blaming some opposition parties of making attempts to invite conflict by bringing division in the country, NC President Deuba warned that NC would launch agitation against such activities.

He also claimed that NC would stand in first position in upcoming election.

Similarly, Minister for Physical Planning and Transport, Ramesh Lekhak said that people from all three areas—mountainous, hilly and Tarai should be looked equally.

Minister Lekhak said that the country has been bearing revenue of billion of rupees due to closure of Tatopani check point.
He also said that it was necessary to resume Tatopani check point for economic development.

Likewise, Lawmaker and NC central committee member Mohan Bahadur Basnet, NC central committee members– Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Bahadur Singh Lama and Sarita Prasain, President of Nepal Tarun Dal, Jitjung Basnet, among others also expressed their views.

More than 500 cadres of different parties including CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) had  joined Nepali congress during the program. RSS
