Indian Army chief Rawat returns home

KATHMANDU, March 31: Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army Bipin Rawat has returned home after completing a four-day visit to Nepal.

He had arrived here on March 18 at the invitation of chief of Nepal Army, Rajendra Chhetri.

He was conferred with the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.

During his visit here, Rawat had called on the Prime Minister, the Minister for Defence and his Nepali counterpart Chhetri, separately.

Nepal Army has believed that the visit has helped strengthen and expand army-to -army relations existing between two countries since long.

He was seen off by Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa at the Tribhuvan International Airport. RSS
