Conspiracy afoot to disrupt election: UML General Secretary Pokharel

Ishwor Pokharel

ILAM, April 10: CPN (UML) General Secretary, Ishwor Pokharel, has argued that there was no truth in the Prime Minister’s statement that the constitution amendment proposal is to be passed at the consensus of all political parties.

At a news conference organised by the Press Chautari Ilam chapter at the district headquarters today, General Secretary Pokharel said, “The CPN (UML) has not budged from its stance on the issue of constitution amendment. We have not made any agreement in this regard.”

Saying the constitution amendment proposal was not relevant in the current situation, he blamed that conspiracy has been plotted to disrupt the local-level election.

The CPN (UML) leader said, “Prime Minister has been talking of holding the local-level election in two-phases. It will not be acceptable at any cost. It is the conspiracy not to let the election be held.”

Similarly, Deputy leader of the CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party, Subas Chandra Nembang, said that the local-level election scheduled for May 14 would not be postponed at any cost. RSS
