Ring Road cleanup campaign begins from today

KATHMANDU, April 15: A Ring Road cleanup campaign has been launched along the ring road as part of Bagmati cleanup campaign from today. The ring road cleanup campaign was organized to extend the cleanup campaign outside the river as well.

Earlier on the 200th week of Bagmati Cleanup campaign, Chief Secretary Dr Som Lal Subedi had issued a 10-point cleanup campaign to extend the programme. The ring road cleanup campaign began from Green City Hospital, Ring road and 10 metric tonnes of waste was managed from there.

Along with it, 10 metric tonnes of solid waste was scooped out from the area from Buddhanagar area as a scheduled programme of Bagmati cleanup campaign, according to campaigner Umesh Bohora.

Members of the High-powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, Kathmandu Metropolis officials, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Personnel, members of publics and school students in around 300 numbers in total joined cleanliness campaign led by Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narshing KC.

On the occasion, Minister KC said that the road and homes should be made cleaner to make the rivers clean.
Similarly, former secretary Kishor Thapa said that the ring road cleanup campaign was essential to effectively launch the Bagmati cleanup campaign.

Similarly, the weekly Rudramati River and Bishnumati River cleanup campaign also continued today. RSS
