Sita aircraft escapes accident

SALLERI (SOLUKHUMBU), April 23: An aircraft of Sita Airlines made an emergency landing with no human casualty but minor damage to the aircraft.

The Lukla-bound aircraft from Kathmandu with call sign 9 NHR made an emergency landing at Phaplu airport due to adverse climate.
According to the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the wing of the aircraft has suffered a crack after it hit the wall of the airport while approaching the runaway for the emergency landing around 8:00 am.

A total of 17 people including three crew members were on board.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Madhav Prasad Budhathoki, said that 12 of the passenger were foreigners.
