HETUDA, May 13: Some cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal or CPN have taken the candidate of CPN (Maoist Centre) in Manahari Rural Municipality-1, Ram Kumar Upreti, into hostage this morning, the locals and Upreti’s family members said.

The District Police Office, Makawanpur, said that a team of police under the command of Police Inspector Madhu Thapa has been sent from Hetauda to the site for the search of Upreti.

The CPN has claimed that the party took Upreti into hostage after the police administration held its cadres without any charges. The CPN has taken responsibility of the case and has also expressed its concern over the misbehaviour carried out by the police to its sympathizers. RSS
