KATHMANDU, May 31: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) has withdrawn all its agitating programs in Terai.

The Federal Alliance including RJPN on May 26 had announced their protest programs in Tharuhat/Madhes targeting to foil second phase local level election slated for June 14. But the government on today morning formally announced that the second phase local election will be conducted on June 28.

Following the postponement of second phase election, RJPN in a party meeting held on Wednesday decided to drop its protest programs. New agitation programs will be unveiled after a meeting of Federal Alliance, said RJPN leader Manish Suman.

RJPN has been demanding the endorsement of constitution amendment bill, determining the number of local units as per the population, party registration and election symbol to contest in the election.
