Election essential to implement the constitution: Pokharel

BIRATNAGAR, June 23: The CPN (UML) general secretary Ishwar Pokharel has said that the elections including local election were essential to implement the constitution and reach the Singh Durbar-centric rights to the door of the people.

In a press meet organized by the Press Chautari, Morang chapter today, leader Pokharel added that holding polls in clean and fear-free environment was the common responsibility of all.

He further opined for holding three-tier of elections in stipulated time frame, by January 2018. He further expressed the confidence that his party will perform better than the first phase of local poll.
In another context, he blamed that the government as it was violating the election code of conduct by distributing six billion rupees in the name of reliefs to conflict victims. RSS
