RPP to scrap membership of cadres contesting against party’s candidates

Kathmandu, June 24: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) will scrap the general membership of leaders and cadres independently contesting the second phase of local polls with a sole aim to defeat candidates chosen by the party.

The party will taken up a policy of initiating action against any leaders and cadres that contest the elections with an intent to defeat the candidates chosen on basis of merit and contribution to the party, according to RPP leader, Rajaram Shrestha.

The party has instructed the grassroots organizations as well as town and ward level election committees to forge coordination during electioneering in 334 local units.

The party fell short of expected success in the first round of elections. This time around the party has intensified publicity campaigns and political activities, RPP Spokesperson Bhuwan Pathak shared. The party’s senior leaders and officials have too headed to the districts to take part in the election campaigns. RSS
