KATHMANDU, June 26: Minister for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma has said that people have made mockery of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplop’ led CPN Maoist’s decision to disrupt the local level election.

“They have lost rhythm,” Sharma said while speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal in Dang on Monday.

“Biplop led Moaist is revealing their dual side by participating in the polls in some districts while boycotting in others. They are participating in the polls in Twang among other areas. It is ethically contrastive,” he added.

Home Minister Sharma warned not to spread terror among people by throwing bombs and during the election. “No one should try to rub people of their voting right. We have arranged tight security and deployed all three forces to ensure peaceful voting environment,” he added.

“We are showing no weakness from the security point of view. I request one and all to assuredly take part in the elections.”

He further said that he has seen excitement among the people with the advent of the second round of local polls and a healthy competition between the political parties.

Home Minister Sharma noted that apart from an isolated incident, the first phase of the local level elections was conducted peacefully. He expressed belief that the second phase of elections will also be held peacefully.

Sharma made it clear that it was imperative to hold the three-tier elections to resolve the political problem.

He added further that the government was prepared to hold the elections in Province no 2 with participation of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP N) on September 18.

Minister Sharma said the government was preparing to hold other elections by mid December.
