Constitution amendment in national consensus: Former Minister Nayak

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Leader of CPN (Maoist Center) Ajay Shankhar Nayak has said that the constitution amendment proposal to be put to vote on Sunday will get endorsed in national consensus.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Friday, Nayak urged the main opposition CPN-UML not to be barrier in creating the environment of national consensus in the country.

Also former Law Minister, Nayak, added, “Rastirya Janata Party Nepal has finally agreed to participate in the local level election scheduled to be held in Province 2 on September 18. The government has created conducive environment for the RJPN to partake in the upcoming polls.”

He further added, “National consensus is on the way. No political parties should create obstruction in the process; rather they should cooperate in ending the current political status-quo and give nation a positive outlet towards constitution implementation, peace and prosperity.”
