KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to take disciplinary action against those lawmakers (from the party) violating the party whip for taking part in the voting for the constitution (second amendment) bill held yesterday.

A meeting of the party office-bearers held today agreed to initiate a process of action against 18 members of parliaments for ‘going’ against the party whip. According to the party source, 18 lawmakers remained off the voting held yesterday for the second constitution amendment bill and their move was termed against the party interest.

In the meeting, chief whip Kunti Kumari Shahi apprised that earlier the party had issued a whip, directing all its lawmakers to vote against the bill.

More, the meeting decided to seek a legal remedy in the aftermath of Supreme Court’s Monday verdict to give a legal recognistion to its breakaway faction-led by Pashupati Shamser Rana. Likewise, the meeting agreed to call a valley-level cadres’ gathering in Kathmandu soon. RSS
