Modi-Deuba hold one-to-one meeting ahead of delegation talks

NEW DELHI, Aug 24: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held one-to-one talks with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence ahead of the deligation level talks at Hyderabad House.

The talk was focused on Indo-Nepal bilateral ties and ways to further strength the relation of trust between two countries, informed Foreign Affairs Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

According to Mahara, Indian Prime Minister Modi has expressed commitment to extend support to help build Nepal economically prosperous. They have also agreed to form a high level joint mechanism to deal with and find long-term solutions to the flood problems occurring at border.

PM Modi has also agreed to move Pancheshwor Multipurpose project forward and has pledged to help in energy development sector of Nepal. Modi has also agreed to come to Nepal to lay foundation stone of Arun III hydropower project, sources confirmed.
