11,000 tourists visit Koshi Tappu
INARUWA, Oct 6: A total of 11,252 tourists visited the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, one of the renowned tourist destinations in the eastern region in the past one year.
Of them, 11,002 were domestic tourists, 54 from SAARC countries and 196 foreigners visiting the wildlife reserve in fiscal year 2073/074, according to protection officer Shyam Kumar Shah. The highest number of tourists visiting the reserve located in west Kushaha of Koshi rural municipality was in the month of Baisakh and lowest in the month of Poush.
In the same period, the reserve earned 785,100 in revenue collected from the visitors.
The reserve is famous for its collection of wild buffalo and variety of birds.
