Rekha Thapa joining UML, Karishma Manandhar entering Maoist Center

KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Popular actor and central member of Naya Shakti Nepal, Karishma Manandhar is making up her mind to join Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led CPN (Maoist Center). She is likely to formally enter Maoist Center tomorrow or day after tomorrow, according to sources.

Likewise, another popular actor Rekha Thapa is also preparing to join CPN-UML. Oli close sources have confirmed that Thapa recently visited UML Chair Oli and wished her desire to enter UML.

Thapa started her political career from Maoist Center. But later she joined Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party. But days after the RPP split, she had announced that she joined Pashupati Shumsher Rana-led faction RPP (Democratic).

Actor Thapa had joined RPP on December 2016. She was elected on RPP central committee with popular votes through the party’s general convention earlier this year.

However, Thapa said that she is still undecided about joining UML. It has also been understood that she has held conversation with Prachanda’s son Prakash Dahal about her possible return to her older party.

Meanwhile, singer Komal Oli has already joined UML. She formally entered the party by taking tika from UML vice chair Bamdev Gautam. Komal was previously in RPP and also was elected on central committee member along with actor Thapa.
