Seven killed, six injured in microbus accident in Gulmi

GULMI, Oct 30: At least seven people were killed and six others injured when a passenger microbus heading to Tamghas from Butwal veered off the road and plunged 300 meters down into the river at Gulmi Dubrar rural municipality-4 in Gulmi district on Monday.

The identities of those killed in the accident are yet to be ascertained while the injured ones were sent to hospital in Palpa district, according to the District Police Office, Gulmi.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Anurag Kumar Dwivedi said that out of 15 on board the microbus (Ba 4 Kha 5501) including the driver, two were missing.

Police and locals are working on search and rescue efforts, said Chief District Officer, Gopal Aryal, adding that the cause of the incident was also yet to be ascertained.
