KATHMANDU, Nov 4: The alliance of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) has prepared its election manifesto with ambitious plans for the development of energy sector in the country.

The left alliance has promised to give shares of hydropower projects to all citizens and mobilize internal capital to make the country self-reliant in power generation.

As per the manifesto, only electronic vehicles would be used in the Kathmandu valley in three years while charging stations would established in different locations. Likewise, the folks of Karnali region and remote areas would be provided with the electricity in an accessible manner and sufficient energy would be distributed in all areas of the country, according to the election manifesto of left alliance.

Similarly, electricity would be provided to all households across the country within two years.

Likewise, LP gas would be replaced by making the country fully self-reliant in energy while hotels and restaurants would be encouraged to use electric ovens and special campaigns would be operated to curb electricity leakage.

The left alliance has promised to generate 20,000 MW power in a decade and make the country fully self-reliant in energy sector.

The energy remained after the domestic use shall be exported to neighbouring countries with special plan of actions.

Similarly, mega projects including Karnali Chisapani, Budhigandaki, West Seti, Nalsingh Gadh, Uttarganga, Naumure, Upper Jhimruk, Sunkoshi-1, Sunkoshi-2, Tamor, Tamakoshi-3 and some other projects would be implemented with top priority.

The left alliance has also promised to offer joint investment from the government and people, offer subsidy to the poor families in the use of electricity and giving share of hydropower to the people living under the absolute poverty line.
