KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Minister for Sports Rajan Kumar KC has claimed that he will win the upcoming parliamentary election with more than 40 thousand votes. Minister KC is a Nepali Congress (NC) candidate from Kathmandu constituency No 10.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Sunday, Minister KC said, “No other leaders have worked as much as I have. You can ask people about it. I know every nook and corners of Kathmandu-10; I am familiar with every house’s problem because I am a representative of this area.”

“I have always devoted myself in people’s service from local to central level. I was appointed a minister because of my works’ high evaluation. People take me as a respectable leader. And, I am confident that people will elect me in this election as well,” he added.

“40 thousand voters will vote me in December polls,” he claimed.

Minister KC expressed his confidence that people will vote NC since the party’s election agenda is prosperity of the country adding that it is up to people to choose between left alliance and democratic alliance.

He added, “We are not afraid of the left alliance. The upcoming election is rather a public referendum between left and democratic parties. I believe people will choose democratic alliance over the left alliance as communism is gradually disappearing from the world.”

“Communist parties think they will win the election. But it’s only their dream.”

He also raised question over Heetman Shakya’s candidacy. He said, “Shakya, who publicly opposed the 2013 election and even smeared CPN (Maoist Center)’s Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s photo, is contesting the polls. I doubt his character.” Shakya is the challenging KC as a joint candidate from CPN-UML and Maoist Center.

“He doesn’t know anything about constituency 10. Why would people vote him?,” he added.
