Family of deceased temporary policeman to get 2.5 million rupees

DANG, Nov 30: The family of temporary policeman Binod Chaudhary, who died in a bomb explosion in the line of duty, will receive a financial assistance of Rs. 2.5 million, according to Chief District Officer of Dang, Gajendra Bahadur Shrestha.

The amount includes Rs one million announced by the government and Rs. 1.5 million from the insurance coverage, CDO Shrestha said as he visited the bereaved family members today. He also pledged to provide employment to Binod’s widow Anjana Chaudhary and education for their 18-months-old daughter Pramisa.

Likewise, the province no. 5 police chief IGP Madhu Prasad Pudasaini provided Rs. 25,000 on his personal behalf while the District Police Office Dang provided Rs. 25,000 for the cost of final rites of the late Chaudhary. The Tulasipur Sub-metropolis also announced Rs. 25,000 and meeting the cost of education for Pramisa up to Grade 12.

Meanwhile, Chaudhary was cremated at the bank of the Babai river today. Chaudhary, who was injured in a bomb blast carried out targeting a Nepali Congress rally, died in course of treatment on Wednesday. Chaudhary was one of the around hundred thousand citizens appointed as temporary police for the purpose of regulating the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies.
