KATHMANDU, Dec 25: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has urged the Election Commission to immediately declare the election results and submit them to the President.

Addressing the ‘congratulatory cum thanks-giving’ program organized by the United Leftist Alliance Kathmandu Constituency Number 2 at local Thali on Monday, he said the Election Commission should not delay in announcing the House of Representatives proportional representation election results.

Former Prime Minister Nepal stressed on forming a new government at the earliest for ending the political transition.

He accused Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba of impeding the process on the ruse of the National Assembly election rather than demonstrating his morality by resigning from his post after the declaration of the election results towards the first-past-the-post elections.

Leader Nepal said the Single Transferable Voting Process which is not even mentioned in the constitution would not be acceptable to them and insisted on adopting the majoritarian system for the National Assembly election.

He reiterated that the process for unification of the UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) would not be stopped no matter whatever power in the world works to sabotage it, asking the cadres of both parties not to be swayed by any rumors.
