Interim Rules of Procedures-2074 BS

KATHMANDU, March 5: The House of Representatives has unanimously endorsed the ‘Interim Rules of Procedures-2074 BS’.

A first meeting of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the federal parliament, held on Monday endorsed the procedures.

Senior-most member of the House of Representatives, Mahantha Thakur had tabled the motion seeking endorsement of the procedures.

Standing from the seat, lawmaker Prem Suwal raised a point of order immediately following the presentation of the motion. Senior-most member Thakur had urged him to take his seat arguing there is no point to raise order when the rule is yet to be framed.

The endorsement was made through a voice vote. The first meeting of the House of Representatives endorsed the interim work procedure required to run House proceedings till the formulation of the parliamentary rules of procedures.

The meeting has also nominated parliamentarians Khagaraj Adhikari, Man Bahadur BK, Purna Kumari Subedi, Laxman Lal Karna and Uma Shanker Argariya to chair the meeting in absence of the Speaker.

At the onset of the meeting, Thakur read out two separate letters received from the Office of the President, one on summoning the maiden session of the parliament and another on government formation.

Next meeting of the parliament will take place at 11.00 am tomorrow. RSS
