Unification with Maoist Center not possible: Naya Shakti Coordinator Dr Bhattarai

CHITWAN, March 21: Naya Shakti Party Coordinator, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, has clarified that there was no possibility that his party could unite with CPN (Maoist Center).

“There is no possibility of party and work-level unification,” Bhattarai told media persons in Chitwan. His statements comes at a time when Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is urging Naya Shakti to return back to its mother party.

“We will support and object to the government on basis of its activities,” he added.

“We will support the activities carried out in favor of the nation and people and protest those carried out against the people and nation.”

Bhattarai also argued that there was not necessity to garner three-fourths majority in favor the government even after having two-thirds.

Dr Bhattarai said, “There should be the ruling and opposition parties in democracy. The ruling side will implement its policy and program if there is opposition party.”

On the occasion, the theme of the five-point declaration of the Lumbini Meeting of the party held recently was recited jointly.
