President presenting govt policies and programs at 4 pm today

KATHMANDU, May 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is presenting the government policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year (2018/19) in a joint sitting of the Federal Parliament (House of Representatives and National Assembly) at 4:00 pm on Monday.
A meeting of the cabinet held on Sunday night endorsed the proposal to this regard.
As per the constitution, the President may address either a meeting of any House or a joint sitting of both Houses of the Federal Parliament, and summon the members for that purpose.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat’s Assistant Spokesperson Keshab Aryal, all preparations for the program have been completed.
Development and prosperity have been prioritized in the policies and programs forwarded by the government led by Nepal Communist Party–formed following the unification between the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) last week.
Employees have been deployed to welcome and manage individuals attending the program. Invited for the program are also Vice President, top leaders of various political parties, high government officials, and chiefs of constitutional commissions, security agencies and Nepal-based diplomatic missions.
Following the joint meeting, separate meetings of the National Assembly and House of Representatives have been scheduled to thank the President.
