Maoist Center lawmakers call for pro-people budget

KATHMANDU, May 7: CPN-Maoist Center members of parliament have emphasized on the need to make the budget estimates for the fiscal year 2018/19 pro-people.

Speaking at the MC parliamentary party meeting today, the MPs suggested introducing program, plans and policies that address the expectations and aspirations of the people in the upcoming budget. They were also of the view that the budget estimates should comprise plans that expedite development works and complete the national pride projects as soon as possible.

Talking to RSS following the meeting, MC spokesperson Pampha Bhusal said the overall aspects of the budget were discussed.

At the meeting, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun, Minister for Drinking Water Bina Magar, Minister of State for Agriculture Ram Kumari Chaudhary, leaders Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Janardan Sharma, Aman Lal Joshi, Kamala Rokka, among others expressed their views.

As more MPs are yet to express their views, the meeting was postponed until Tuesday morning, Bhusal said.

It may be noted that the government is preparing to table the budget estimates for the next fiscal 2018/19 on coming May 29. RSS
